MAP engine cover insulators meet the same automotive under hood specifications as the outer dash and hood insulators used today in most cars and trucks, including:

 Molded Acoustical Products offers a formed, lightweight, acoustically efficient insulator for engine compartment, beauty cover assemblies.  MAP insulators include a molded fiberglass substrate
with polyester fabric on both sides. Benefits include:
  • Compression molding allows variable thickness to  achieve maximum loft where available as well as compressibility to 3mm to clear components in restricted areas.
  • Molded fiberglass provides long term durability and acoustical predictability in a harsh environment.
  • Fiberglass gram weight options allow acoustical tuning to achieve maximum performance (see table below).
  • Contour molded designs with robotic waterjet  trimming provide efficient, repeatable installation to improve quality and reduce cost.
